I made a kayak storage rack today. It's a pretty simple design, but it works. It's free standing, so I can move it anywhere.

Nice and simple. Just one suggestion though if you have not thought of it, get some foam blocks to put under them. You can even permanently attached the foam to the wood also. Laying flat on something hard for a long time can permanently damage the hull and I know from experience.

Very nice! One more suggestion, if they're going to sit in dry dock all winter...flip them over. The cowling is stouter and can take the weight better then the hull, even with padding I've seen hulls warp...makes the boat track funny, not that I'd know...:oops:

Excellent design! I have been meaning to build something like that for a while, we've got three canoes we need to store and they're currently taking up a small garage since they're all on saw horses.

Great advice. I was at a large sporting goods store that had their poly canoes stored on their hulls instead of the gunwales. They were all warped.
