To survive on any expedition, proper equipment is necessary to make it there and back.  Children are taught at a young age that humans should be thankful for three basic elements that ease our day to day lives.  Those three elements; food, water, and shelter, are the most basic of equipment needed to survive.  Technological changes through the past 30 years have made expedition travel more convenient and safe.

Most expedition vehicles are highly modified vehicles capable of reaching places few have ever gone before.  The equipment used enhances the success and survival of the trip.   The necessary equipment can be broken up into several major groups: recovery, communication, navigation, camp support, and vehicle modification.

There is an endless number of ways that the equipment is integrated to the vehicle, thus making each vehicle unique to its owners needs.  This is part of what makes group gatherings so much fun!  The equipment required to complete you expedition varies from expedition to expedition.

Each expedition has equipment tailored to that specific expedition.  This section will review select equipment and rate the equipment on the following categories: durability, reliability, ease of use, and value
