Ram 2500 overland build

The Ram 2500 has become one of the most popular full-size pickups for overlanding, and for good reason. In stock form, it’s a vehicle suitable for backcountry travel, but it’s the availability of almost unparalleled aftermarket support that makes this platform exceptional. Publisher Scott Brady states that “while the Power Wagon gets all of the off-road attention, the 2500 and 3500s have quietly overtaken the #1 seat in the full-size segment. With the combination of solid axles, the Cummins motor, and with the aftermarket support of companies like AEV, the Ram has consistently ranked as the most popular big truck for our audience.” One interesting development in recent years is the growing popularity of American-made trucks for overlanding in Australia. So, what happens when world-class Aussie outfitters and parts manufacturers build the ultimate full-size pickup? Cue today’s behemoth: a low-mileage 2022 Ram 2500 (25,000 miles), which was purchased in Canada and then shipped to Australia for the ultimate overland buildout. This has to be one of, if not the most dialed 2500s we’ve ever featured; it was revealed on the Explore Life YouTube channel: My New Rig :: Ram Build Complete. The rig completed the Overland Expo circuit but is much more than a proof of concept and has been trail-proven across more than 20,000 miles of the “harshest offroad terrain” in the US last year “without issue.” If you’re looking for the ultimate full-size pickup for navigating technical terrain and accessing hard-to-reach off-grid camp spots, look no further.

From the Seller:

“One of one overland build! After travelling around Australia for the last decade I was excited to explore further abroad and see what the US had to offer. I played with the idea of building a vehicle in the States, but the layout and function of my dream build wasn’t common or easily achieved. Not to mention, it would be almost impossible to get the Aussie products I wanted on this overseas build. In pursuit of this dream, I partnered with some of the best Australian outfitters to build an Aussie Overlander based on the Ram 2500 platform. By building this vehicle in Australia, I was able to rely on the expertise and experience of our brand partners and ensure it was built exactly to my specifications. This vehicle has had no expense spared and was built for display at the Overland Expo circuit as well as comfortably tackling the harshest offroad terrain during our travels across the US in 2023. We traveled over 20,000 miles last year and the vehicle performed flawlessly. But, with our trip coming to an end, I’m looking at new projects and I’m ready to let the vehicle go to someone who will use it for what it was built for.”
