American Overlander: Adventure Tool Company Shop Roll

Field repairs can be a nerve racking experience. The only thing to compound the aggravation of a field repair is not having the right tools, or having them and not being able to access them easily. Tool rolls have been around as long as tools themselves but many leave much to be desired. The Shop Roll from Adventure Tool Company however, is the most robust and well designed tool roll we have seen in years.

Constructed of heavy waxed canvas with MIL-SPEC components and sewn using high-tensile nylon thread with reinforced binding tape, the Shop Roll is––burly. The 21 individual pockets swallow even the largest assortment of tools, leaving them visible for optimal organization. The large fold-over flap features a cavernous zippered pocket ideal for rags, manuals, or other essentials. One large zippered pouch at the edge of the roll is ideal for electrical tools and supplies, and a sturdy strap keeps everything tightly bound for secure transport.

To augment the Shop Roll, ATC also produces heavy duty Tool Pouches. Made of the same beefy materials of the Shop Roll, the Tool Pouches use #10 zippers for a secure closure. A small Velcro patch accepts two identification Name Tapes for those of us who appreciate order.

It’s obvious the founders of ATC, Paul and Amy, are experienced overlanders. Their products are thoughtfully designed and built with an uncompromising dedication to quality. The Shop Roll will endure years of hard use, and should it fail, which seems highly unlikely, it’s backed with a lifetime warranty. Made in Colorado with components sourced from the U.S., the Shop Roll is one of our favorite products of the year.

They also have one of the coolest logos ever.
